Morgenstern, Christian: A csuka (Der Hecht in Hungarian)

Portre of Morgenstern, Christian

Der Hecht (German)

Ein Hecht, vom heiligen Antón
bekehrt, beschloß, samt Frau und Sohn,
am vegetarischen Gedanken
moralisch sich emporzuranken.

Er aß seit jenem nur noch dies:
Seegras, Seerose und Seegrieß.
Doch Grieß, Gras, Rose floß, o Graus,
entsetzlich wieder hinten aus.

Der ganze Teich ward angesteckt.
Fünfhundert Fische sind verreckt.
Doch Sankt Antón, gerufen eilig,
sprach nichts als: "Heilig! heilig! heilig!"

A csuka (Hungarian)

Egy csuka Szent Antal szavát
követve döntött: a család
a vegetáriánus eszme
magasztos erkölcsét kövesse.

S azóta kosztja már csakis
tó-rózsa, tó-fű, tó-kavics.
De rózsa, fű, kő, ó iszony,
kicsurgott alfelén bizony.

S a tó lőn illattal tele.
Ötszáz hal fordult föl bele.
Szent Antal, látva, felkiáltott
(csak ennyit): Áldott, áldott, áldott!
