Uploaded by | P. T. |

Andronicus' Steed (English)
The lords, they drink and feast all round a marble table.
Table of marble and silver, table of marble and gold.
And they all drink and feast, and utter not a word,
though Constantine the young begins a quiet song
about Andronicus, his peer, the much-praised youth:
"You're black; your clothes are black; black is the steed you ride.
You teach it how to trot, you teach it how to gallop,
you teach it to accept the nearing throng of war.
You teach it on the land, you teach it on the sea,
and you forget the maid who is your heart's desire."
