Bryan, Tom: Kenuzás, Veyatie tó, nyárutó (Canoeing on Loch Veyatie, Late Summer in Hungarian)

Portre of Bryan, Tom

Canoeing on Loch Veyatie, Late Summer (English)

Slicing the trout-speckled slipsteam,
over the dark silver of Veyatie,
today, a restless and turgid loch –
fifteen fathoms of darken dream.

Angry clouds choke Cul Mor;
tomb mountain on the thunder path,
the West wind troubles the white birch hills,
while green waves gash the bracken shore.

I, pilgrim, midge-eaten, soaked to the bone,
gliding a rain-pocked loch (Ice-Age born),
poet’s road to the true hard North;
below, strange fish move, deep and alone.

Kenuzás, Veyatie tó, nyárutó (Hungarian)

Hajónk sodrát vágni a pisztrángos áron
a Veyatie sötét ezüstjén;
épp ma. A tó dagad, kifürkészhetetlen –
tizenöt öl mély sötétlő álom.

Haragos felhők ülik a Cul Mort;
kriptahegy pásztázzák villám-csapások,
nyír domb szélroham nyugati szél,
zöld víz hullámverését állja a tómart.

Én, szúnyogok ette zarándok, bőrig, csontomig ázva
siklom az esővert tavon (jégkorszaki emlék).
Ez a költő útja, vad Északra ez visz;
lent különös halak sötétlő mély magánya.
