Dickinson, Emily: Csak két ízben veszett belé (49) (I never lost as much but twice (49) in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily

Back to the translator

I never lost as much but twice (49) (English)

I never lost as much but twice,
And that was in the sod.
Twice have I stood a beggar
Before the door of God!

Angels -- twice descending
Reimbursed my store --
Burglar! Banker -- Father!
I am poor once more!

Csak két ízben veszett belé (49) (Hungarian)

Csak két ízben veszett belé

A sírba mindenem.

Atyám, két ízben álltam

Kapudban nincstelen.

Károm kétszer adták

Meg az angyalok.

Tolvaj! Bankár! Isten!

Megint koldus vagyok!
