Pain, Philip: 29. elmélkedés (Meditation 29 in Hungarian)

Portre of Pain, Philip

Meditation 29 (English)

How mutable is every thing that here
Below we do enjoy? with how much fear
And trouble are those gilded Vanities
Attended, that so captivate our eyes?
Oh, who would trust this World, or prize what’s in it,
That gives, and takes, and changes in a minute?

29. elmélkedés (Hungarian)

Mily változó minden földi dolog,
Miért úgy hevülünk! S arany lobog
Bár róluk, ezer Hívsággal mit érsz?
Megrémít mindahány, míg megigéz!
E Világnak hitelt ugyan ki adna?
Orozva nyújt, egy perc, s már más az arca!
