Pound, Ezra: A girl

Portre of Pound, Ezra

A girl (English)

The tree has entered my hands,

The sap has ascended my arms,

The tree has grown in my breast -

Downward,

The branches grow out of me, like arms.

Tree you are,

Moss you are,

You are violets with wind above them.

A child – so high – you are,

And all this is folly to the world.

Fiatal lány (Hungarian)

A fa belement a kezembe,

A nedv fölszállt a karomba,

A fa belenőtt a szivembe –

S odalentről

Kinőttek belőlem az ágak, mint a karok.

Fa vagy te

És moha vagy,

És ibolya vagy, mit borzol a szél.

Gyerek vagy – lásd, mennyire becsüllek,

S a világ számára mindez ostobaság.
