Wilde, Oscar: Az erdőben (In the forest in Hungarian)

Portre of Wilde, Oscar

In the forest (English)

Out of the mid-wood's twilight
Into the meadow's dawn,
Ivory limbed and brown-eyed,
Flashes my Faun!

He skips through the copses singing,
And his shadow dances along,
And I know not which I should follow,
Shadow or song!

O Hunter, snare me his shadow!
O Nightingale, catch me his strain!
Else moonstruck with music and madness
I track him in vain!

Az erdőben (Hungarian)

Mély erdőnek homályából
Ki a rétre hajnalban,
Fehér karú, barna szemű
Faun surran!

Éneklő bokrok közt szökell,
Árnyéka ott táncol vele,
És nem tudom, hogy mi vonz jobban,
Árnya vagy éneke!

Ó, vadász, kapd el az árnyát!
Csalogány, fogd el hangját nekem!
Vagy zenétől őrülten, nyomát
Bottal üthetem!
