I can't help it (English)However hard I scrutinize myself, I can't find the slightest hang-up. The problem is not really that... that I take offence of it. I am a bit puzzled: about my brains and sex I have nothing to report.
Now I can't help, when I see a cop around, but to think he would look good in the morgue. Now I can't help but feeling like helping him kicking his bucket.
And I can't help, when I see a girl walk by but to wonder what kind of impression I make on her. Now I can't help but thinking that so little is needed for her to fall into my bed.
I am not a bad guy but it's beyond my control cops and chicks are driving me mad! I book a room by the Old Bill1 and give my stressed heart to the dove.
And I spend my days roaming about in Pigalle where chicks and pigs2 are thriving, be it a brunette or blonde or a gorgeous cop. So goes my life. I can't help it.
I don't like it when someone hurts me. I say nothing if I don't want to. I leave when the time is right and I sleep when I'm sleepy and I laugh if I feel like it. Still I look... normal.
But I can't help, as I see the moon rise, but to think it would be cosy in the churchyard. Now I can't help but unhook my shroud and go out for a stroll. And I can't help, as I read the news but to look for a nice crime with the picture of the victim bled dry by his woman. Me, I like a girl who does that.
I am not a bad guy but it's beyond my control vampires and vamps are driving me mad! I buy bats for my office and I marry all the killers I know.
And I spend my days in complete cheerfulness in a room stacked with chrysanthema. The girl who will come and kill me while saying "I love you" will make me happy. Not for long, but for sure.
1. "maison Pullman" is quite dated slang for "police precinct" 2. "volaille" can mean both "cops" (poulet) and chicks
