Biography

SZECSI, Margit (1928–1990)

Born in Budapest, the wife of László Nagy, she is a poet proud of her gipsy origins. In 1951 she volunteered for manual labour and many of her poems are about ‘building socialism.’ Her volumes of poetry include March and They will sweep up the trumpets.
