Lidércnyomás (Hungarian)

Álmodtam ezt. Én egy sötét sarokban
láztól pihegve, csendesen,
szemem lehúnyva haldokoltam.

Rózsás tivornya volt. Csengett a víg dal,
és az én első kedvesem
találkozott a másodikkal.

Némák, fehérek voltak és meredtek,
vadul szorítottak kezet,
egymásba villant a szemük, s nevettek.

És haldokolva én is felnevettem
síró kacajjal, csüggeteg,
de erre elröpült a lelkem.

Nightmare (English)

I dreamt this. That in a dark corner I,
breathless with fever, quietly,
eyes firmly closed, was soon to die.

A binge with song, happy as it could get,
and then my first sweetheart
and my second one had met.

They stared, blanched, no words thereafter,
a forceful handshake and,
eyes trading sparks were followed by laughter.

I, too, had laughed, whilst near to death I lay -
a tearful laugh with sadness tinged -
but after that my soul just flew away.
