Petőcz András: The End Of Gloom (A szomorúság pusztulása in English)

Portre of Petőcz András

A szomorúság pusztulása (Hungarian)

Azt mondják, kevesen tudják,
mi is a Boldogság.
Nos, én sem tudhatom.

Csak azt látom, hogy azok,
akik nem én vagyok, azok
mind-mind boldogok körülöttem.

Talán csak a múlt, ami néha-néha
kicsinke boldogság-felhővel ugyan,
de megérinti az arcomat.

Talán csak a múlt, ami néha-néha
még elűzi belőlem a rosszkedvemet.

Majd ha a Bárány!

Ha a Bárány elsikoltja magát,
akkor elmúlik minden.

A szomorúság is meghal,
mindenekkel.

The End Of Gloom (English)

Few are said to know
what Bliss is.
Well, nor am I to know.

I only see that those
who ar not me, those
each and all are happy round me.

Maybe, just the past, - now and then
with but a tiny bliss-cloud
touches my face.

Maybe, just the past, - now and then
still dispels gloom from me.

Soon, when the Lamb!

When the Lamb starts to scream,
everything will pass away.

Gloom will die too,
with all the rest.
