A megfáradt Odysseus (Hungarian)

Amit nem láttam a világból, nem érdekel már.
Mit láttam is, lassan elfelejtem.
Sziklán ülök, hálómat bogozom, hallgatom a hullámok mormolását.
Vagy nézem udvarom zugából dárdavető ifjak vetélkedését.
Hogy kétannyira dobtam valaha? Mindegy.
– Leég a láng, füsttel, korommal hamvadnak a fáklyák.
Gyerünk aludni, Penelopé.
Hanem azért az ablakot hagyd nyitva éjszakára.
Bármelyik pillanatban szólhat a tengerről a hívás.

Odysseus Grown Weary (English)

What I haven’t seen of the world interests me no more.
And what I have seen, I tend to forget as well.
I sit on a rock, loosen up my net, listen to the waves murmuring.
Or I watch the rivalry of spear-thrower youth from a corner of my court.
That I used to throw twice that far? Never mind.
 – Flames burn down, torches smoulder with smoke and soot.
Let’s go to sleep, Penelope.
But, please, leave the window open for the night.
A call from the sea may come any minute.
