Így döntöttem! (Hungarian)

Élsz, kedves! Tudod? Élsz! Élsz! Százezerszer
hívtalak, mennyet s poklot: nem a hit,
a végső kétségbeesés segít,
a tűrhetetlen!
frissíti bennem minden gondolat;

This I decided! (English)

You live, dear! Do you know? I called you
a hundred thousand times, heaven and hell: not faith,
but that unbearable final desperation, that is what helps.
I woke you, I raised you from the grave of my heart
with endless patience, that place had held you safe.
They call me mad and yet,
death is the mad one; your eyes, they shine on me,
and your hands will not ever let go of mine.
You live. This I decided! My thoughts throughout the day
renew the freshness of your flesh. By night you are
not just a secret of my brain: you draw me close,
you fill me with the fire of your blood
and, like a snail its shell, I’ll feel upon my back
the beating of your heart before I sleep.
