Herta Müller (* 17. August 1953 in Nitzkydorf, Rumänien) ist eine rumäniendeutsche Schriftstellerin aus dem Banat. Im Jahr 2009 erhielt sie den Nobelpreis für Literatur. Ihre Werke thematisieren vor allem die kommunistische Diktatur in Rumänien.
