Pound, Ezra: A háború eljövetele: Akteón (The Coming of War: Actæon in Hungarian)

Portre of Pound, Ezra

The Coming of War: Actæon (English)

An image of Lethe,
                and the fields
Full of faint light
              but golden,
Gray cliffs,
        and beneath them
A sea
Harsher than granite,
        unstill, never ceasing;

High forms
        with the movement of gods,
Perilous aspect;
            And one said:
“This is Actaeon.”
              Actaeon of golden greaves!

Over fair meadows,
Over the cool face of that field,
Unstill, ever moving,
Host of an ancient people,
The silent cortège.

A háború eljövetele: Akteón (Hungarian)

Léthe képmása.
   és a bágyadt,
De arany fényben
   fürdő mezők,
Szürke sziklák
   és alattunk
Egy tenger
Gránitnál keményebb,
   békétlen, sosem-nyugvó;

Fennkölt formák
   isteni mozdulatokkal,
Veszélyes látvány;
   s egyikük így szólt:
„Ez Akteón."
   Arany-lábvértű Akteón!

Szép réteken át,
E mező hideg arcán keresztül
Ősi nép hadai,
Békétlen, folyvást-mozgó
Hangtalan díszkiséret.
