Yeats, William Butler: A tökéletes szépségről (He Tells Of The Perfect Beauty in Hungarian)

Portre of Yeats, William Butler

He Tells Of The Perfect Beauty (English)

O cloud-pale eyelids, dream-dimmed eyes,

The poets labouring all their days

To build a perfect beauty in rhyme

Are overthrown by a woman's gaze

And by the unlabouring brood of the skies:

And therefore my heart will bow, when dew

Is dropping sleep, until God burn time,

Before the unlabouring stars and you.

A tökéletes szépségről (Hungarian)

Köd-szemhéj, álom-árnyu szem,

a költő fárad szüntelen,

hogy teljes szépet emeljen a rím,

s elvérzik a női tekinteten

s a mennybolt tétlen népein:

szívem meghódol a harmat előtt,

mely szunnyad örökre, s látja fenn

a tétlen csillagokat, meg őt.
