Blodgett, E. D.: Praha (Praha in Czech)

Portre of Blodgett, E. D.

Praha (English)

perhaps it is a bird
that hangs suspended on

the line drawn between
the earth and sky or just

a shade of darkness that
has broken off to pause

but a moment there
declaring this to be

the edge where all that is
grows thin as air without

the certainty to tell
where light begins or dark

Praha (Czech)

možná je to jen pták
visící na vlasci

napnutém mezi nebem
a zemí nejspíš však

pouhý stín temnoty
který se odštípnul

aby znovu nabral dech
s tím že je na hraně

na níž vše co existuje
zjemní náhle jak vzduch

a nelze s jistotou říci
kde začíná světlo a kde tma
