Radauskas, Henrikas: Morning in the train station (Rytas geležinkelio stoty Angol nyelven)

Radauskas, Henrikas portréja

Rytas geležinkelio stoty (Litván)

Atrieda rytas traukiniais nerimstančiais,

Jo žvilgiai spindi bėgių geležim.

Dangus ir miškas ir peronas gimsta čia,

Kur buvo vien tik tamsuma graži.

Iš nebuvimo, iš nakties, iš nerimo

Išėmęs mėto tolius ir medžius.

Pajutę spindulius, į pievą beriamus,

Pravirksta rasos, kad reikės nudžiūt.

Stoty budėtojas bučiuoja sužadėtinę

(Sapne, po laikrodžiu, kurs rodo tris po keturių).

Ant stalo juokiasi saldainis mėtinis,

Ir Morse mirksi mirgančiu variu.

Ant žydro stiebo rytas kelia inkilą,

Raudoną dėmę tarp žalių beržų.

Du žvirbliai pešasi ant geležinkelio

Dėl saujos saulės avižų.

Morning in the train station (Angol)

Morning rolls in on restless trains.

Her glance flashes against the iron rails.

Heaven, forests and the platform are born here,

Where there was only darkness, beautiful.

From not being, from night, from nervousness

Morning throws cartons and trees.

Feeling the rays, tossed onto the meadows,

Dew cries, because she must dry now.

In the station the guard kisses his fiancée

(In a dream, under the clock, that shows three past four).

On the table a mint candy laughs,

And Morse blinks rippling copper.

On a blue flagpole Morning raises a bird-house,

A red blotch between green birches.

Two sparrows fight on the tracks

Over a handful of the sun's seeds.
