Bernhard, Thomas: A falu határában (Vor dem Dorf in Hungarian)

Portre of Bernhard, Thomas
Portre of Hajnal Gábor

Back to the translator

Vor dem Dorf (German)

Die Gesichter, die aus dem Feld tauchen,

fragen mich nach der Rückkunft.

Mein Schrei stört nicht die Schwalbe,

die auf dem zerbrochenen Ast hockt. Finster

ist meine Seele, die der Wind treibt

ans Meer, zu riechen das Salz der Erde.

Meine Legende ist sterblich.

Unter dem Baum, der meinem Bruder ähnlich ist,

zähl ich die Sterne der Schiffer.

A falu határában (Hungarian)

Az arcok, mik felmerülnek a szántóból,

megkérdik: visszatérek?

Kiáltásom nem zavarja a fecskét,

mely törött ágon gubbaszt. Lelkem

sötét, tengerre hajtja a szél,

hogy beszívjam a föld sóillatát.

Az én legendám halandó.

A fa alatt, mely bátyámhoz hasonlít,

számlálom a hajósok csillagait.
