Ringelnatz, Joachim: In the park (Im Park in English)

Portre of Ringelnatz, Joachim

wieder vorbei.

In the park (English)

A quite tiny deer in a quite tiny wood:

still and so dreamy it stood.

That happened at two past eleven.

Next morning at four

I passed as before

And the creature was dreaming some more.

Then, barely breathing, I went to get near,

creeping upwind of the deer.

And, with a finger, I gave it a touch…

made of plaster or such.
