Adamson, Robert: My house

Portre of Adamson, Robert

My house (English)

My mother lives in a house

where nobody has ever died

she surrounds herself and

her family with light

each time I go home

I feel she is washing and ironing

the clothes of death

these clothes for work

and for going

out to the Club on Sunday

and for Jenny to take her baby

to the doctor in

death comes on the television

and Mum laughs

saying there’s death again

I must get those jeans taken up

A házam (Hungarian)

Az anyám egy olyan házban él

ahol még nem halt meg soha senki

ő önmagát és a családját

fénnyel veszi körül

mindig amikor csak hazamegyek

úgy érzem mintha a halál ruháját

mosná és vasalná

a munkaruhákat

a ruhát amiben

szombaton a klubba járnak

és azt amiben Jenny elviheti

a kicsit az orvoshoz

a televízióban jön a halál

és mama csak nevet

és mondja ismét itt a halál

le kell vennem a farmert amiben vagyok
