Bukowski, Charles: Én… (Me in Hungarian)

Portre of Bukowski, Charles

Me (English)

women don't know how to love,

she told me.

you know how to love

but women just want to

leech.

I know this because I'm a

woman.

hahaha, I laughed.

so don't worry about your breakup

with Susan

because she'll just leech onto

somebody else.

we talked a while longer

then I said goodbye

hungup

went into the crapper

took a good beershit

mainly thinking, well,

I'm still alive

and have the ability to expell

wastes from my body.

and poems.

and as long as that's happening

I have the ability to handle

betrayal

loneliness

hangnail

clap

and the economic reports in the

financial section.

with that

I stood up

wiped

flushed

then thought:

it's true:

I know how to

love.

I pulled up my pants and walked

into the other room.

Én… (Hungarian)

a nők nem tudnak szeretni,

mondta.

te tudsz, de a nők

csak rádakaszkodnak, mint a

pióca.

én tudom, én

nő vagyok.

hahaha, nevettem.

minek aggódsz

Suzan miatt? majd csak

ráakaszkodik

valaki másra.

beszélgettünk még egy darabig

aztán elköszöntem

letettem a kagylót

kimentem a retyóra

szartam egy jó nagyot a sörtől

és arra gondoltam, lám, még

mindig élek, hisz még mindig

képes vagyok a testemből

hulladékokat üríteni.

meg verseket.

amíg ez így van,

addig elbánok

az elhagyatottsággal

a magánnyal

a beszakadt körömmel

a kankóval

a pénzügyi rovat

gazdasági jelentéseivel is.

ezzel

fölálltam

kitöröltem

lehúztam

és arra gondoltam:

való igaz:

én tudok

szeretni.

fölhúztam a nadrágomat és

visszaballagtam a szobámba.
