Crane, Stephen: Láttam egy embert, a látóhatárt követte (I saw a man pursuing the horizon in Hungarian)

Portre of Crane, Stephen
Portre of Góz Adrienn

Back to the translator

I saw a man pursuing the horizon (English)

I saw a man pursuing the horizon;
Round and round they sped.
I was disturbed at this;
I accosted the man.
“It is futile," I said,
“You can never—"

“You lie," he cried,
And ran on.

Láttam egy embert, a látóhatárt követte (Hungarian)

Láttam egy embert, a látóhatárt követte,
Körbe-körbe, ahogy rohan.
Ez megzavart,
Megszólítottam hát.
„Hiába,” - mondtam.
„Sosem fogod -”

„Hazudsz,” kiáltott,
És továbbfutott.
