Dickinson, Emily: Nagy fájdalmat kábult érzés követ (341) (After great pain, a formal feeling comes (341) in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily

After great pain, a formal feeling comes (341) (English)

After great pain, a formal feeling comes --
The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs --
The stiff Heart questions was it He, that bore,
And Yesterday, or Centuries before?

The Feet, mechanical, go round --
Of Ground, or Air, or Ought --
A Wooden way
Regardless grown,
A Quartz contentment, like a stone --

This is the Hour of Lead --
Remembered, if outlived,
As Freezing persons, recollect the Snow --
First -- Chill -- then Stupor -- then the letting go --

A Láb gép módra lépeget –

Fásult uton –

Föld, Lég, Bármi lehet –

Mi benne nő,

Oly Egykedvűség, mint a kő.

Az Ólom-Óra ez

Mit éppúgy nem feledsz,

Mint a Havat a Fagyásnak kitett

Jég s Kin előbb – majd a Hagyjuk, Minek –
