Endrezze, Anita: A varázsló lánya (The Magician's Daughter in Hungarian)

Portre of Endrezze, Anita

The Magician's Daughter (English)

The air is thick with rabbits.

I am a little bored

with that trick. And always

so white! Out of thin air?

Even the rabbit knows better,

having left behind thousands

of herself in a limbo of fur

and pale eyes. It is we

who are invisible.

She is shocked

at our hands pulling

her through.

and the scores of knotted scarves

that the magician believes in!

I long to untie each one.

I want to see him pull his bones

out of his fist. I want

an illusion of sacrifice.

Speaking of which, enters the girl.

She climbs in the box, waves.

I watch her wiggle her toes.

When he cuts her

in half, still smiles.

Like the rest of us,

she thinks she is whole.

A varázsló lánya (Hungarian)

A levegő nyulaktól sűrűsödött meg.

Engem kissé untat

ez a trükk. És mindig

olyan fehér! A vékony levegőtől?

A nyúl jobban tudja,

mert maga mögött hagyott önmagából

több ezret egy prém és üvegszem

lomtárban. A láthatatlanok

mi vagyunk.

Megdöbbent

amint a kezeink

átnyúltak rajta.

És az összecsomózott sálak darabjai,

amikben annyira hisz a varázsló!

Mindegyiket kibogozni vágyom.

Látni akarom hogyan hullanak ki csontjai

az ökléből. Az önfeláldozás

illúzióját szomjazom.

Miközben beszél valamiről, belép a lány.

Bemászik a dobozba, integet.

Nézem, hogyan mozgatja a lábujjait.

Amikor a férfi félbe-

vágja, még mosolyog.

Mint mi többiek,

azt gondolja, hogy ő egész.
