Jones, Saeed: Utolsó portré fiúként (Last Portrait as Boy in Hungarian)

Portre of Jones, Saeed
Portre of Mohácsi Balázs

Back to the translator

Last Portrait as Boy (English)

It's not barking, but the sound of teeth
just shy of sinew, taut insides of my thighs.

I'm in the woods again.

Branches snip my clothes into feathers, each step farther
into my own silhouette. Or

is this the locked room of my body?

A grown man called boy
gone inside himself,

the circle of wolves blinking gold
just beyond the trees.

I am not a boy. I am not
your boy. I am not.

Utolsó portré fiúként (Hungarian)

Nem ugatás ez, de a fogak csattogásától
pattanásig feszül a combom.

Az erdőben vagyok újra.

Az ágak rojtosra szaggatják ruhám, minden lépéssel
mélyebbre hatolok saját árnyalakomba. Vagy

ez lenne testem bezárt szobája?

Egy felnőtt ember, akit fiúnak hívnak,
magába szállt,

körülötte farkasok aranyló pislogása
a fák mögött.

Nem vagyok fiú. Nem vagyok
a fiad. Nem vagyok.
