Joyce, James: Kamarazene XV (Chamber Music XV in Hungarian)

Portre of Joyce, James

Chamber Music XV (English)

From dewy dreams, my soul, arise,

From love's deep slumber and from death,

For lo! the trees are full of sighs

Whose leaves the morn admonisheth.

Eastward the gradual dawn prevails

Where softly burning fires appear,

Making to tremble all those veils

Of grey and golden gossamer.

While sweetly, gently, secretly,

The flowery bells of morn are stirred

And the wise choirs of faery

Begin (innumerous!) to be heard.

Kamarazene XV (Hungarian)

Lelkem, nehéz az ébredés,

Szerelmes álom ez s halál,

De reggel fú az égre és

A sóhaj, ím, a lombra száll.

Lassan kitisztul napkelet,

Kigyúl a halk tüzek sora,

S az ökörnyálnak megremeg

Aranyló-szürke fátyola.

Majd édes-titkon, halkan a

Hajnal virág-harangja szól,

És bölcs tündérek kardala

(Száz hang!) csendül rá, valahol.
