Shelley, Percy Bysshe: Three Fragments

Portre of Shelley, Percy Bysshe

Three Fragments (English)

Fragment: To Byron

O mighty mind, in whose deep stream this age
Shakes like a reed in the unheeding storm,
Why dost thou curb not thine own sacred rage?

Fragment: Omens

Hark! the owlet flaps his wings
In the pathless dell beneath;
Hark! 'tis the night-raven sings
Tidings of approaching death.

Fragment: The Vine-Shroud

Flourishing vine, whose kindling clusters glow
Beneath the autumnal sun, none taste of thee;
For thou dost shroud a ruin, and below
The rotting bones of dead antiquity.

Három töredék (Hungarian)

Töredék: Byronhoz

Nagy elme, kinek sodrában remeg
Korunk, mint vak fergetegben a nád,
Szent haragod miért nem fékezed?

Töredék: Ómenek

Hallga, a kuvik szárnya ver
Az úttalan völgyben alant;
Hallga, a holló énekel:
Hírt, azt, hogy közel már a hant.

Töredék: A Szőlő-Lepel

Virágzó tőke, izzó fürtödet
Az őszi nap alatt nem ízlelik,
Mert halotti lepel vagy, mert feded
Egy elmúlt kor rothadó csontjait.
