Shelley, Percy Bysshe: The Waning Moon

Portre of Shelley, Percy Bysshe

The Waning Moon (English)

And like a dying lady, lean and pale,

Who totters forth, wrapped in a gauzy veil,

Out of her chamber, led by the insane

And feeble wanderings of her fading brain,

The moon arose up in the murky east,

A white and shapeless mass.

Mint a haló hölgy (Hungarian)

Mint a haló hölgy sápatag-soványan

rohan ki a betegszobából,

magára kapja csipkefátyolát,

mert kergeti a téboly és a láz –

úgy néz a hold a bús világra most:

fehéren és alaktalan.
