Stevens, Wallace: Floridai anekdóta (Fabliau of Florida in Hungarian)

Portre of Stevens, Wallace

Fabliau of Florida (English)

Barque of phosphor
On the palmy beach,

Move outward into heaven,
Into the alabasters
And night blues.

Foam and cloud are one.
Sultry moon-monsters
Are dissolving.

Fill your black hull
With white moonlight.

There will never be an end
To this droning of the surf.

Floridai anekdóta (Hungarian)

Villódzó bárka
A pálmás tengerparton,

Indulj a mennyekbe,
Habfehérségbe
És az éj kékjébe.

Hab és felhő egyesül.
Nyomasztó hold-szörnyek
Eloszlanak.

Fekete hajótested fehér
holdfénnyel árasszad el.

Sosem lesz vége
a tajték zúgásának.
