Williams, William Carlos: Nantucket (Nantucket in Hungarian)

Portre of Williams, William Carlos

Back to the translator

Nantucket (English)

Flowers through the window

lavender and yellow

changed by white curtains –

Smell of cleanliness –

Sunshine of late afternoon –

On the glass tray

a glass pitcher, the tumbler

turned down, by which

a key is lying – And the

immaculate white bed

Nantucket (Hungarian)

Az ablakban virág van,

sárgák, levendulák és

a függönyök fehérje -

Terjeng a tisztaság itt -

Napfény a késő délutánban -

üvegkancsó a tálcán,

ivópohár előtte,

a szája lefelé néz,

mellette kulcs, - amott meg

szeplőtlenül fehér ágy.
