Wordsworth, William: A szivárvány (My Heart Leaps Up When I Behold in Hungarian)

Portre of Wordsworth, William

My Heart Leaps Up When I Behold (English)

My heart leaps up when I behold

A rainbow in the sky:

So was it when my life began,

So is it now I am a man,

So be it when I shall grow old

Or let me die!

The Child is father of the Man:

And I could wish my days to be

Bound each to each by natural piety.

A szivárvány (Hungarian)

Ha fenn a szivárvány ragyog,

megdobban a szívem:

így volt, hogy kezdtem éltemet,

így van most, hogy év évre megy,

így legyen mindig, s meghalok

inkább, ha nem!

A férfi apja a gyerek;

hadd fűzze hát napjaimat

egymáshoz a természet-áhítat.
