Borges, Jorge Luis: El oro de los tigres

Portre of Borges, Jorge Luis

El oro de los tigres (Spanish)

Hasta la hora del ocaso amarillo

Cuántas veces habré mirado

Al poderoso tigre de Bengala

Ir y venir por el predestinado camino

Detrás de los barrotes de hierro,

Sin sospechar que eran su cárcel.

Después vendrían otros tigres,

El tigre de fuego de Blake;

Después vendrían otros oros,

El metal amoroso que era Zeus,

El anillo que cada nueve noches

Engendra nueve anillos y estos, nueve,

Y no hay un fin.

Con los años fueron dejándome

Los otros hermosos colores

Y ahora sólo me quedan

La vaga luz, la inextricable sombra

Y el oro del principio.

Oh ponientes, oh tigres, oh fulgores

Del mito y de la épica,

Oh un oro más precioso, tu cabello

Que ansían estas manos.

A tigrisek aranya (Hungarian)

Amíg eljön a sárga alkonyat,

hányszor fogom bámulni még

Bengália hatalmas tigrisét,

ahogy kiszabott útján föl-le jár

a vasrácsok között,

nem is sejtve, hogy ez a börtöne.

Aztán jönnek majd más tigrisek,

Blake égő tigrise,

aztán jönnek más aranyak,

a szerelmetes fém, amely Zeusz volt,

a gyűrű, mely kilencednapra mindig

kilenc újat szül, s mind újabb kilencet

s ez így megy szakadatlan.

Az évekkel egytől egyig

elhagytak engem a gyönyörű színek,

már nem maradt más,

csak a derengő fény, a konok árnyak

s a kezdet aranya.

Ó, mítoszok és époszok

napnyugtái, tigrisei, csodái,

s ó, még drágább arany, a te hajad,

amely után úgy sóvárog kezem.
