Hondo Ponto, que bramas atronado  

con tumulto y terror, del turbio seno  

saca el rostro de torpe miedo lleno,  

mira tu campo arder ensangrentado,  

 

y junto en este cerco y encontrado 

todo el cristiano esfuerzo y sarraceno,  

y cubierto de humo y fuego y trueno,  

huir temblando el impío quebrantado.  

 

Con profundo murmullo la victoria  

mayor celebra, que jamás vio el cielo 

y más dudosa y singular hazaña,  

 

y di que sólo mereció la gloria,  

que tanto nombre da a tu sacro suelo,  

el joven de Austria y el valor de España.

Mély Pontus, míg morajló szirteden

rémült robaj zúg, ziháló kebledröl

emeld fel arcod, melyet félelem tölt

s nézd, a vérmosta, lángoló teren

 

milyen elszántan dúl a küzdelem,

melyben egymásnak spanyol s mór sereg tőr,

és fedve füsttől, dörgéstől, tüzektől

hogy menekül a vert istentelen.

 

Köszöntse zúgásod a legkülönb

gyözelmet, mely csak volt az ég alatt, a

harcban, mely csupa kérdés volt meg kétség,

 

s hirdesd, hogy a sikert, mely szent rögöd

nevét szétvitte, mily méltán aratta

don Juan herceg s a spanyol vitézség.
