Huotarinen, Vilja-Tuulia: [it’s our job to keep an eye...] ([meidän tehtävämme...] in English)

Portre of Huotarinen, Vilja-Tuulia

[meidän tehtävämme...] (Finnish)

meidän tehtävämme on valvoa kuka lehmä hyppää kenenkin päälle

siitä tietää että sillä on kiima

                                                mutta unohdan aina, kummalla

iltaisin lehmäni asettuvat parijonoon

        Minea lypsetään kuiviin

                               Anastasia putoaa ojaan

Medeia romahtaa

Penelope turpoaa, Angelika saa vaivoikseen kärpäset

ja Thetis pakkopaidan

                   Afroditen utareista tulee mureketta

                                                                 Dianan hyppy jää lyhyeksi

                  Kaikkia sankarittaria ei voi pelastaa

mutta raivoisa Wonder Woman, punamultaa huulissaan

                                                       syöksyy lypsytarhan portti selässä kaupunkiin

Ja kun sen tapaa Stockmannilla

                      se ei tervehdi enää

[it’s our job to keep an eye...] (English)

it’s our job to keep an eye on  which cow jumps on which

so we know that one's on heat

but I always forget which one

in the evenings my cows queue up in pairs

          Minea’s milked dry

                         Anastasia falls into a ditch

Medeia collapses

Penelope swells, Angelica’s pestered with flies

and Thetis with a straitjacket

                  Aphrodite’s udders turn mincemeat

                                                          Diana’s jump falls short

              All heroines are not saveable

but the wrathy Wonder Woman rushes off to town with reddled lips,

                                                               milk-yard gate on her back,

And when you see her at Stockmann’s department store

                                                   she’s no longer saying hello
