B. Tomos Hajnal: Five minute sculpture (Ötperces szobor in English)

Portre of B. Tomos Hajnal

Ötperces szobor (Hungarian)

Déli tizenkettőkor
szobor voltam
egy nagyvárosi forgalomban.
Előttem járt el
szikár háziasszony kosarában
a piacoló éhség,
aktatáskában a napirendre jött magántulajdon
példásan dossziérozott bizonyítványai
(több példányban).
Ugyancsak orrom előtt
kopogott fel-alá
a pirosharisnyás szemtelenség lakkcipője,
s közben egy nyöszörgő hang kérte,
énekelte a tíz garast ebédre.

Csak öt percet álltam délben
nagyvárosi jövés-menésben
s éreztem lassan vállamra száll,
s odapiszkít a látogató magány.

Five minute sculpture (English)

At noon
I was a sculpture
in the hustle-bustle.
In front of me passed by
in a slender housewife’s basket
the marketing hunger,
a briefcase of private property files
headed to meetings in exemplary organized folders
(several copies).
Also in front of my nose
knocked up and down
the red-stocking patent leather of audacity,
while a whimpering voice asked,
sang the few cents for a meal.

Only five minutes at noon standing
in the big city traffic,
and I felt on my shoulders, slowly falling
the muck of the visiting loneliness.
