Válek, Miroslav: Nepochopiteľné veci

Portre of Válek, Miroslav

Nepochopiteľné veci (Slovak)

Nepochopiteľné veci medzi nami.
"Načo je to a čomu sa to podobá?"
Koliesko rozkrútené v prstoch vykonáva svoj zvrchovaný pohyb.

Ale hodiny nejdú.
Jabloň rozkvitnutá koncom januára.
Ale zima neprestáva.
Zreteľný pocit, že ťa niekto volá.
Ale ulica je prázdna.

A ešte iné veci,
stokrát počuté:
"...že ju nechal, lebo ju mal rád..."
"...strpčovali si život,
lebo nemohli bez seba vydržať..."

Odkiaľ prichádzajú tieto slová
bez logického odôvodnenia,
bez vzájomných súvislostí,
nepochopiteľné
a podivné?

Nepochopiteľné veci,
prijmite ma k sebe,
vstúpte do mňa všetkými zmyslami,
dotýkajme sa navzájom,
tak ako husieľ dotýka sa slák.

Nepochopiteľné veci,
vy ste v nás.
Vyslovujem si ticho slová
a čakám, tým sa zažnete.

Incomprehensible Matters (English)

The incomprehensible matters in our midst
“What is it for and what does it look like?”
The wheel, spun up in the fingers, carries out its absolute movement.

Though the clock is not working.
The apple tree in bloom at the end of January.
Though the winter is not stopping.
An explicit feeling that somebody is calling you.
Though the street is empty.

And other things,
Heard a hundred times:
“…he has dumped her, because he loved her…”
“…they have been bittering their lives,
because they couldn’t live without each other…”

Where do these word come from,
without logical ground,
without any linkage
incomprehensible
and odd?

Incomprehensible matters,
receive me,
come into me by all senses,
let’s touch each other,
just like a bow touches the violin.

Incomprehensible matters,
you are in us.
I am enunciating those words quietly
and waiting until they light up.
