La Fontaine, Jean de: Cikado kaj formiko (La Cigale et la Fourmi in Esperanto)

Portre of La Fontaine, Jean de

La Cigale et la Fourmi (French)

La cigale, ayant chanté
Tout l'été,
Se trouva fort dépourvue
Quand la bise fut venue.
Pas un seul petit morceau
De mouche ou de vermisseau.
Elle alla crier famine
Chez la Fourmi sa voisine,
La priant de lui prêter
Quelque grain pour subsister
Jusqu'à la saison nouvelle.
«Je vous paierai, lui dit-elle,
Avant l'août, foi d'animal,
Intérêt et principal.»
La Fourmi n'est pas prêteuse;
C'est là son moindre défaut.
«Que faisiez-vous au temps chaud?
Dit-elle à cette emprunteuse.
-- Nuit et jour à tout venant
Je chantais, ne vous déplaise.
-- Vous chantiez? j'en suis fort aise.
Et bien! dansez maintenant.»

Cikado kaj formiko (Esperanto)

Kantis dum somer' sen fin'
Cikadin'.
Kiam frosta vento blovis
Sen provizo ŝin ektrovis,
Sen malgranda eĉ pecet'
Da muŝeto aŭ vermet';
La malsato pelis ŝin
Al najbara formikin'.

Kaj ŝi petis kun insisto:
"Donu grajnojn por ekzisto
Ĝis la nova jar-sezon'.
Mi vin pagos, laŭ ordon',
En Aŭgust', pro best-honor',
La procenton kun valor'."

Ke ne pekas formikino
Per pruntemo, estas vere;
"Kion faris vi somere?"
Diris ŝi al pruntulino.

--"Tage, nokte al venantoj,
Ne mallaŭdu -- kantis mi."
--"Kantis? -- gaja jen meti'!
Nun ekdancu post la kantoj!"
