Franck Venaille 1936-ban született Párizsban. Kötetei talán a legfontosabb hangok a kortárs francia költészetben. 2009-ben megkapta a Robert Alain Bosquet Ganzo és a Mercure de France-díjait, és 2011-ben, a Francia Akadémia költészeti nagydíját.
