Biography

Ian Blake, Regularly published, prize-winning poet writes and lives ten miles from the nearest shop in the Wester Ross, looking-out towards Skye. Graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and Balliol, Oxford. Former climbing instructor, columnist for The Irish Times, Near Eastern archaeologist, who explored the Dead Sea shore of the Judean Wilderness until the ‘67 Arab-Israeli war, he then taught English at one of Britain’s greatest Public Schools where, he was also a Housemaster. He is Past President of the Clan Mackenzie Society of Scotland and the UK, Vice Chairman of the annual ‘Iain Dall’ Gairloch Piping Festival.
