James Krüss (1926-1997) német gyermekííró és költő. Ezenkívül illusztrátor, drámaíró, forgatókönyvíró, fordító, gyűjtő. 1968-ban megkapta a Hans Christian Andersen Medált. Magyarul a Florentine c. gyermekregénye olvasható. Legismertebb könyve ill. figurája Timm Thaler.
