Manuel Alberto Escobar Sambrano (Lima, Peru, 1929 - Framingham, 2000) két fiatalkori verseskötete után felhagyott a költészettel, kritikusi, irodalomtörténészi pályára lépett. A limai San Marcos egyetem tanára volt, több perui költői antológia szerkesztője.
