Jean-Baptiste Chassignet (1571?-1635?) - mint tisztviselő élt Gray-ben. Többnyire a halál témájáról szóló, közel négy és félszáz szikár, izzó szonettjének gyűjteménye (Az élet megvetése és vigasza halál ellen - Le Mespris de la vie et consolation contre la mort) 1594-ben jelent meg.
