Ne fájjon a lelkem,
ne fájjon a testem,
legyen, ki felemel,
amikor elestem.
 
Amit méznek érzek,
epévé ne váljék,
kövessen a béke,
mint jóságos árnyék.
 
S ha majd jő a halál,
szóljon hozzám szépen,
s ne a hátán vigyen,
hanem az ölében.
