Levelek és emberek (Hungarian)

Tudod már tavasszal,

hogy színpompás avarral

teríti be az utakat majd

az ősz.

Még egy utolsó szépségözön

az elmúlás előtt.

Nincsen két egyforma

sárga, rőtvörös, bordó, barna -

de végül mind száraz,

ráncos lesz, szakadt, fáradt.

Porrá lesz,

földdé lesz.

És benne van

a zöld tavasz ígérete.

Nem meghalt.

Beteljesedett.

Of Leaves and Lives (English)

You already know it in spring

that streets will be covered in

lavishly colourful leaves

by the fall.

A final abundance of beauty

before decay.

Not two of the leaves are alike,

yellow, rusty red, purple, brown, -

but in the end, all will become dry,

wrinkled, torn, weary, worn out.

Into dust,

into soil they return.

Bearing in themselves

the promise of new spring.

This isn’t death.

It’s perfection.
